Feds pushed to ramp up Jobseeker amidst cost of living crisis
Since the poorest people struggle to keep up with the cost of living, the Australian Council of Social Service is urging the federal government to increase the JobSeeker stipend by 50% in this year’s budget.
ACOSS also requests that the Albanese administration eliminate the stage three tax cuts and aid in making dwellings more energy efficient in addition to raising JobSeeker from $50 per day to $76.
When the budget is presented on May 9, ACOSS has prepared its yearly wishlist of initiatives they would want to see implemented by the government.
The stage three tax cuts, which the Labor administration committed to enact at the previous election, are also on the wish list.
